You've seen the orange MDOT signs traveling out of Ellsworth on your way Downeast, and now work has officially begun.

The Maine Department of Transportation has begun a resurfacing project that starts just a few feet east of Myrick Street and extende 7.43 miles easterly on Route 1/Downeast Highway into Hancock.

Work will be performed on the $1,500,000 project by Lane Construction Corporation, and should be completed by July 14th of this year.  The majority of the work will take place at night, between 7PM and 7AM, Sunday through Friday.
