I have often thought that it is all too common in the US for people to expect that as they age their health and memories will decline significantly. Common yes but scientists in England feels they have proven that we are the one’s making it happen with our diets and lack of exercise.  To me that makes sense.

According to a group of top physicians in the UK it is the Mediterranean Diet which encourages the eating of nuts, olive oil, fish, fresh fruits and veggies.  Claiming this diet will protect you from Alzheimer’s disease and other memory effecting conditions. They have even found it to improve the cogitative abilities of those suffering with dementia.

In this recent examination of 12 studies including one that spanned 20 years experts credit the Mediterranean diet with staving off many brain ailments as well as other conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes
