He might be only 22 years old but Mookie Betts played like a seasoned veteran in the field, on the bases and at the plate leading the Sox to a 9-4 win over Washington.At the plate Betts went 2-4 including a homerun with 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. On the bases he has 2 steals and in in the field he made a homerun saving catch against Bryce Harper.

David Ortiz added to the offense with 2 hits and 2 rbi while Sandy Leon had 3 hits from the number nine spot in the order. Boston knocked Ryan Zimmerman out of the game in the third inning after collecting 9 hits and 8 runs.

Rick Porcello picked up his first win in a Red Sox uniform pitching 8 innings of 4 hit ball while striking out 6 Nationals.
