Mother Charged with Murder in Death of Toddler

Maine State Police have arrested a woman in connection with the death of her 2-1/2 year old daughter. The body of Loh Grenda was found inside her mother’s car on Mt. Pleasant Road in Newport on June 23rd. 

Leanna Norris, 24. was taken into custody this morning from a medical facility in Rockport where she was receiving treatment. While the medical examiner’s office has not revealed the cause of death, they have ruled it a homicide.

Norris was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and is expected to be arraigned on a charge of murder on Friday, July 5 at 9 a.m. at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor.
