A mother from Orono has been charged with allegedly smuggling dope into the Maine Correctional Center in Windham, so that her son could either use it or distribute it.  Karen Lane of Orono, who is 52 years old was taken into custody and charged with Class B unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs.

Lane's son, Christopher Hyson, 28, of the Maine Correctional Center in Windham and  Adam Shawley, 27, of the Maine State Prison in Warren have both been charged with the felony violations.

Apparently Lane had been selling suboxone that was prescribed to her, to friends of the inmates, who would then get the drug into the prison system for distribution.  Recently, with the help of the U.S.Postal service, $5000 worth of the drug was intercepted on its way to the Prison, where drug use seems to be prevalent.

Additional suspects have been identified and could be charged.

Well at least mom was using the postal system, here's a story of another mom that was using something else to get drugs into prison for her son.
