I think everyone knows that having too many things on your to do list can make you feel tired.  Well’ according to research that is exceptionally true if your have to do many of them at the same time.  It also showed if you are mulit-tasking you are most likely a woman.

The first thing to consider comes from Professor Jim Horne, director of the Sleep Research Centre at Loughborough University. He is quoted, ‘One of the major functions of sleep is to allow the brain to recover and repair itself, ‘During deep sleep, the cortex - the part of the brain responsible for thought, memory, language and so on - disengages from the senses and goes into recovery mode. ‘The more of your brain you use during the day, the more of it that needs to recover and, consequently, the more sleep you need.’

The second thing comes from U.S. researchers who have concluded that women do in fact need mor sleep in general because of the fact that ladies do most of the multitasking and their brains therefore need more time to recover.

And here is the rub if you don’t pay attention to the first two. Duke University scientists, found women who are sleep deprived often suffer from depression and become angry. Previous studies have also linked a lack of sleep to increased risk of heart disease, mental health problems, strokes and inflammation within the body. Other experts also believe lack of sleep for a woman can actually give her pain from inflammation.
