This week is National Police Week. It's a week that we thank those who protect our cities and towns and those that live within them, and it's also a week that we remember those that gave their lives doing so.

Yesterday in Augusta, the annual ceremony honoring those that have passed within the line of duty took place at the Maine Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial.  The Memorial has 83 names inscribed on it.

Dick Curless was a country singer-songwriter from Maine that mainly wrote songs about the trucking industry, remember "A Tombstone Every Mile?"  He also wrote and performed a song dedicated to fallen police officers that we thought was appropriate for this week, or for that matter, any week.
