They issue these "on days when a significant
number of boats and paddlecraft are expected to be out on the
water."

It may be hot out there, but baby the water is cold!

The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazard Statement that remains in effect until sunset today, and states the following:

Beach Hazard...The warm air temperatures in the 60s to low 70s
may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water
temperatures which are currently only upper 40s.

* Impacts...The cold water temperatures can quickly cause
hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water. Anyone on boats
or paddlecraft should use extreme caution to avoid this threat.

There you go, you've been warned, and please whatever you do, don't bundle up and then jump in.
