I am aways looking for ways to stay trim as I age.  Doesn't seem like how much you try there is always something getting in the way.  Well, now thanks to Marie Clare Magazine we may know what some of them might be. Some of these are surprising like secondhand smoke and some not like too much time on the internet and some you won't want to change no matter what..

1. Relying too heavily on "fitness" foods. A new study from the Journal of Marketing Research shows that people who rely on bars, shakes and health foods believe they don't have to exercise as much to reach their goals.
2. Delaying your college degree. The Journal of Health and Social Behavior reveals that students who get married before graduating from a university are 65% more likely to become obese later in life.
3. Excessive internet use. Watching kitty videos and taking silly quizzes is fun, but more time on the web equals more extra weight. Shoot for surfing a half-hour less so you can exercise and go to bed early.
4. Your roommate's behavior. One study from the University of Michigan found that college freshman with active, healthy-conscious roommates were less likely to gain the "freshman 15.

5. Second-hand smoke. The researchers at BYU discovered that second-hand smoke triggers cellular changes that result in weight gain.
6. Vitamin D deficiency. A lack of this vitamin has been linked to obesity, so grab a glass of lowfat milk.
7. Recreating TV and Pinterest recipes. People who regularly whip up delicious treats they find on social media weigh more than those who don't.
8. Happy relationships. It may not be fair, but men and women that are madly in love are no longer interested in attracting a mate and less motivated to stay fit!
