Norridgewock Bridge Name May Be Changed To Honor Fallen Deputy

Some folks in Somerset County have spoken, and the Sheriff and a State Representative are looking into it.

Representative Brad Farrin has submitted a bill to the legislature that would rename the Norridgewock Bridge, the structure that spans the Kennebec River between the towns of Madison and Norridgewock, to the “Corporal Eugene Cole Memorial Bridge”.

As you know by now, Somerset County Sherrif's Deputy Cole was slain during the early morning hours while sitting in his cruiser.  A four day manhunt followed before the fugitive was apprehended.  Cole's funeral was attended by over 3000 law enforcement officials from all over the country.
