She may have failed to medal in yesterday's Olympic Halfpipe competition, but snowboarder Hannah Teter is gold in our book!

Teter won the gold in 2006 and the silver in 2010 but slipped to fourth place in yesterday's event when she fell during her second attempt. American cowgirl Kaitlyn Farrington slid away with the gold.

Hannah, who is 27 years old, lives in Belmont, Vermont, and comes from a snowboarding family.  Two of her brothers, Abe and Elijah have competed in the past with the U.S. snowboarding team.

Ben and Jerry's ice cream which is made in Vermont actually created a limited edition flavor in Hannah's honor called "Maple Blonde".

Meanwhile, back in 2010, Hannah was one of four female athletes that were featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

We'll continue to root for our funky cute high flyin' New England maple blonde!
