Open Farm Day In Maine Is This Sunday

From Alpaca to dairy, from vegetables to fruit, farms statewide will be available to you during Open Farm Day!

The annual family tradition happens this Sunday, July 24th, as many participating farms throughout Maine open their gates to educate kids and adults about the business of agriculture!  Find out how food becomes available at the farm stand and how wool becomes available for clothing.  There will be numerous tours, demonstrations, tastings, pettings and hayrides for all to enjoy!

Some of the farms in our area that will be open for tours this Sunday include:

• Happytown Farm in Orland, a diversified organic farm.
• Guini Ridge Farm in Union, raising vegetables and sheep.
• Treworgy Family Orchards in Levant, featuring fruits and vegetables, hayrides and a petting zoo.
• Balfour Farm in Pittsfield, an organic dairy farmstead creamery.
• Garden Side Dairy @Hatch Knoll Farm in Jonesboro, featuring dairy goats, blueberries, poultry and veggies.
