What wonderful time to take a walk in the Orono Bog fall can be. If you know this to be true and are planning to get one last walk in you need o do it sooner than later because the Bog Walk will be closing a bit earlier this year to get some more needed repairs. Bangor Mayor Ben Sprague took to Facebook the other day to extol it’s praises as love by local and visitors alike. He says since it opened in 2003 hundreds of thousands of people from all over the globe have enjoyed its beauty.

The Bog Boardwalk is a joint venture of the University of Maine, the City of Bangor, and the Orono Land Trust. Currently they Bog Walk director and crew  are trying to get 65 new section in before bad weather makes that impossible. Most of this work is being done by volunteers.

The boardwalk is handicapped accessible and the loop trail is approximately a mile, Open 8 – 4:30 daily you should get one more walk in while the leaves are so pretty.
