Our Favorite Summer Candy

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to pop on down to Boothbay  watching the salt water taffy roll on the machine in the window of the Daffy Taffy Factory. Seems that I am not alone in my love of taffy.

Our dentists will also be happy to learn that salt water taffy has been chosen by Americans as their favorite summer candy.

Candy Crate, an online candy store, recently conducted a survey that asked respondents: “What is Your Favorite Summer Time Candy?”

Salt water taffy was number one with more than 25 percent of the vote.

The findings are based on a July 2013 survey of 2,100 men and women from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
