Over The River And Through The Woods
Taking a long car trip to grandma's for Thanksgiving? Let's make it barf free! If someone in the car has a tendency to suffer from motion sickness here are somethings you can do to ease your children's (or your own) pain and nausea. The following are some tried and true remedies:
- Cut-up lemon in a ziplock bag. Every time you feel sick, open it up and smell it.
- Put a few drops of ginger or peppermint oil on a cotton ball in a plastic sandwich bag. When you start to feel queasy, open the bag and sniff the oil.
- Place aspirin on your belly. Put an aspirin on your belly button and place a Band-Aid over it.. (I did this once and I'll be darned if it didn't work)
- Open a window. They say cracking a window works for puppies, has to do with their inner ear, so you might try it when you start feeling queasy.
- Also, Bonine is a non drowsy motion sickness pill that works very well. The trick is to take is a half hour before you leave.
So there you go. Feel free to add any more you know to our facebook page and Happy Trails!
