You have to love the job of a weather service and it's fellows.  Seriously, not one of them can accurately predict what is really going to occur with our weather so why do they argue so hard and put down others who are or a different opinion when they must know sooner or later it is going to bite them in the butt. Perfect example, it has been an exceptionally cold and snowy winter and the government's climate scientists were dead wrong in predicting it. However, the Farmers’ Almanac was right when they predicted this winter would be “bitterly cold”.  A little vague I'll give you...still, the Farmers’ Almanac has been making predictions for 197 years and according to them that have about an 80% accuracy rate which you have to admit is pretty good and yet modern scientists don’t put much stock in them.

How wrong were they? The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center predicted temperatures would be above normal from November through January. As you know, what actually happened was a “polar vortex” swept down and caused every state except Florida to experience snowfall and brought 4,406 record low temperatures across the U.S. in January along with 1,073 record snowfalls.
