Paint Bangor Day To Help Orono Bog Walk

This years Paint Bangor Day put on by The Bangor Art Society will help support the re-building of the boardwalk by dedicating a portion of the funds raised in to the Orono Bog Boardwalk.

There is still time to sign up to help as they need artists ready to paint and folks to come to the auction and bid on the work which will be created that day. This is a great opportunity for you to invite family and friends to the Art Auction, purchase a painting and support the Boardwalk. Local businesses and institutions in Bangor and beyond have contributed space for the auction, food for the reception, and prizes for the art.

The artists bring a fresh perspective to the greater Bangor area. Some paintings will be of ‘natural Bangor’; some will be of urban Bangor; and some will focus on wider areas in the Greater Bangor community. Artists of all ages and experience plan to participate.

Pre-registration goes until August 12, may be completed on line through the Bangor Art Society web site's Download the form and mail it to: Bangor Art Society, P.O.Box 2411, Bangor, ME 04402-2411. Registration for Bangor Art Society members and youth is free. All others pay a $25 entrance fee, due on the day of the paint out. The entrance fee may be applied to the cost of membership in the Bangor Art Society.

All artists must who want to participate in 'Paint The Path To The Bog' register outside the Gracie Theater at Husson University between 6:30 and 10:00 A.M on the day of the Paint Out. Your canvas/paper/panel will be stamped before you head out to paint. Artists may work in any drawing, painting, or wood cut medium. Art is due back at Gracie Theater, Husson University by 3:00 PM. Art should be matted and/or framed and ready for display. No sawtooth hangers please. Artists may paint anywhere in the Greater Bangor Area.

Schedule for the day

6:30 – 10:00 AM Registration and stamping of canvas/paper/panel

6:30-3:00 PM Paint throughout the greater Bangor Area

2:00 - 3:00 PM Deliver completed, matted/framed paintings to Gracie Theater Husson Auction Site

3:00 – 5:30 Relax, enjoy, and remove paint stains!

5:30 – 6:00 Auction preview

6:00 – 8:00 Reception, Auction and Awards Ceremony Gracie Theater Atrium
