Remember when you and your friends dressed up and went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show to dance, sing and throw stuff?  Well, let’s do the Time Warp again!

To finish up this year’s season Penobscot Theatre Company (PCT) is bringing live and in person the The Rocky Horror Picture show to the stage.   This crazy little experience will run June 12 through June 28 with late-night shows and all the bells and whistles diehard audiences have come to expect. “Literally, according to the PCT Director, there will be bells,” PCT also promises the full meal deal with what you’d expect from The Rocky horror Picture Show.

PCT’s Bari Newport went on tell the BDN: “We’ll have audience participation bags available at the door with bells, confetti…It’s going to be a party! With PTC and ROCKY HORROR both sharing a 40th anniversary, it’s a big occasion!”

What I didn’t know is that this show actually started in the theatre back in London in 1973, and was then adapted into the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Since that time it has developed a cult following s around the world.

PCT Synopsis: The story follows staid Brad and prim Janet, a young couple that stumbles unwittingly and irreversibly into the home of a mad transvestite scientist unveiling his new creation, a muscle man named Rocky Horror. Will they suffer the fate of Eddie or give themselves over to absolute pleasure? Even those new to the show will know before intermission that Brad is wrong: This ain’t no hunting lodge and everything’s not going to be alright.

Can’t  wait.
