Traffic on Main Street in Pittsfield will be flowing a little differently for the next three days or so as Pan AM and the MDOT perform work on the railroad crossing there.  The railroad crossing, between the library and Veteran's Park, will be totally closed during the construction process, which means no traffic allowed over the crossing.

Traffic on Main Street will be allowed from the south only, all thru traffic must use the Pittsfield Industrial Park truck route though.  On the other side of the crossing, the downtown area may be accessed from Somerset Avenue and North Main St (Route 100).

MDOT will have detour signs in place.  The crossing usually experiences a high volume of truck traffic.
