More and more police departments are using Facebook to get messages out to the public. Whether they're posting surveillance photos and asking for tips, posting photos for "Throwback Thursday" or public service messages, Facebook is becoming an integral part of community policing.

Sometimes, though, the police get some messages that aren't totally complimentary. A case in point this message that was posted to the Bar Harbor Police Department's Facebook page.

The Bar Harbor Police did edit the message to remove some of the blatant profanities, and posted this tongue-in-cheek response:

To the person who posted this, if you have any information on Methamphetamine production in our community, please contact us. Our phone number is 288-3391. Also we have employee's who's only duty is enforcing parking issues so no time was taken away from any ongoing investigations. Lastly, everyone likes donuts, because they are delicious!
