A man suspected of entering a Randolph grocery store and robbing the Camden National Bank branch there has been arrested.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 32-year-old Michael Giacomuzzi was arrested at a Pittston home early Thursday morning by the State Police tactical team. Giacomuzzi lives elsewhere in Pittston but was staying with a friend last night at a house at 27 Capitol Street. Troopers called him on the phone and used a PA system before the man surrendered without incident at about 5 o'clock. He was taken to the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta.

State Police say the arrest was the result of a number of tips they received after releasing photos of the robber and his car on Saturday. The lone robber entered the bank, located at Googin's IGA on Water Street, and handed a note to a teller demanding money and claiming he had a gun. The suspect made off with nearly $6,000 in cash. So far, none of that money has been recovered.

McCausland says Giacomuzzi's criminal history includes past drug arrests. He also bought another car over the weekend, likely with some of the stolen money. He is charged with robbery, theft, and violating his probation conditions.
