Police say the death of a Bates College student doesn’t appear to be suspicious.

James Jhun was found unresponsive in his dorm room on Sunday. He was later pronounced at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The Portland Press Herald reports that Jhun was suffering from an unknown medical condition.

Police say an autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner but a final determination on the cause of death is pending further study.

Jhun, who was born and raised in the Boston area, would have graduated in May. He was pursuing a degree in environmental studies and health.
