UPDATE: Waterville police have made two arrests connected to an incident in which a man was stabbed in the stomach at his home.

Deputy Chief William Bonney says police received a report of a stabbing at around 6:00 Tuesday night. Responding officers to a home on Moor Street found an injured 21-year-old man. He was conscious and alert when taken to Maine General Medical Center Thayer and later transported to the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. Police say his wounds are serious but not life-threatening.

Police on Wednesday arrested 32-year-old Ashley Boivin, who is a neighbor to the victim. Police say there was a verbal altercation in the street between several people, when Boivin and the victim began to physically fight. The encounter ended when the victim was stabbed and Boivin fled the scene.

At 10:00, police were called to the scene of the stabbing on Moor Street for a complaint of a separate attack that happened at the original scene. Investigators say a 19-year-old woman was assaulted by three people involved in the original argument because they believed she assisted police in their investigation. Police say Boivin was not involved in that dispute.

As a result of the second attack, 26-year-old Colby Dyer was charged with Domestic Violence Assault, due to his relationship to the victim. In addition, 31-year-old JennyLee McLean-Miller and 20-year-old Priscilla Pagliaroli were summonsed for Assault. The 19-year-old victim sustained minor injuries and didn't require emergency medical services.
