Three years later, the Eastern Promenade will rock again!

Back in 2012, the folk rock band Mumford & Sons brought their Gentlemen of the Road festival to Portland. The show attracted 15,000 to the city owned Eastern Prom. The city received $54,000 from the one show. Portland also received $64,000 in reimbursements for extra police, ambulance coverage and other expenses.

Promoter Townsquare Media is making plans for an August concert that will draw 6,000-7,000 people. The show will take place on a Saturday with performers playing 1-10PM. Performer(s) have yet to be announced.

Outdoor concerts have been on the rise in Portland. Waterfront Concerts have utilized 3,000 person Maine State Pier. Plans to redevelop Thompson’s Point Peninsula into a concert venue are set to be completed by summer of 2015.
