Restoration Details: | Emera Maine crews have been battling challenging weather conditions overnight as they work to restore power to thousands of customers in the wake of a powerful Thanksgiving Day snow storm. Snow that was wet and heavier than originally forecasted brought down lines and tree limbs knocking out service to more than 9,000 at this hour. As the storm starts to move away and daylight breaks, field crews will begin to assess the damage and make determinations regarding appropriate restoration times. Both internal and external crews will work throughout the day to get all customers restored as safely and quickly as possible. Customers are reminded to never touch a downed line or a tree in contact with one. Anyone using alternate heat sources or generators are urged to follow manufacturer guidelines and take proper safety precautions. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
