I'd call it one of the scariest as well...

The steep pathway to the east face of Champlain Mountain in Acadia National Park just got a nice PR boost! Travel resource, Fodors.com listed the Precipice Trail as one of the '10 Most Beautiful Hikes in the US.'

Hikers with nerves of steel can take to the trail up about 1,000 feet to take in amazing views. Getting there is tricky though. The steep hike features ladders, rungs and bridges to get to the top.

Other hikes that made the list include BEAUTIFUL Mooney Falls in Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park, Red River Gorge in Kentucky, Alaska’s Kenai Fjords National Park and West Maroon Creek Trail in Colorado. You can see the full list here.

If you're looking for an adventure on the Precipice Trail, it's important to check to see if it's open. March 15th to August 15th the trail is usually closed for the nesting peregrine falcons. If they aren't using the trail as their personal love shack, it remains open.

Currently the trail is closed.
