When you visit the SPCA of Hancock County, don’t forget to check in the cubbies!  Because you may see a pair of sparkling yellow eyes belonging to a sleek black cat looking back at you!

Adoptable cat Gia has been overlooked for several weeks now. She finds it a little scary to come out of her cubby when there are visitors in the lobby, but if you come up and greet her, you’ll find that she’s very friendly!

Gia is now about 3 years old and when she arrived at the shelter, she had her little black kittens tagging along, each of them just like her!

Now all of Gia’s kittens have been adopted and this affectionate, mellow cat is seeking a home of her own. We think she’d be happy either with feline friends or as an only kitty. Gia is willing to go with the flow - especially if the current takes her right into your home!

By the way, Klaus, last week's Pet of the Week, was adopted!  Hooray!  But, he message still rings true.  Klaus asked that you buy a reusable bag when shopping at Hannaford in Bar Harbor, because for every bag sold $1 is donated to the SPCA of Hancock County.

For more information about Gia, please give the shelter a call at 667-8088!
