In the Bangor / Orono area it is hard to find a person who hasn't enjoyed the Bangor Forrest or Bog Walk at least once and most many times. This Sunday is your chance to enjoy it again and give the projects a lift by participating in the 2018 Rabbit Run.

Whether you want to walk or run this laid back and fun event is for you. The 2 courses run through the Bangor City forest measuring 5.5 miles for runners and 4 miles for walkers.

This years event will be raising money for the Bog Walk reconstruction campaign. Race day registration will be open at 7:30 Sunday morning 4/29 at the Bangor City forest Kittredge Road entrance. The race/walk entrance is $25.00.  The walk will begin at 8:30 and the run steps off at 9:00.

One thing I love that makes the Rabbit Run unique outside of the chance to see a rabbit, is that both walkers and runners can bring along their well behaved dogs and walkers can bring strollers.

Organizers remind participants to expect rocks, roots and some mud, Maine in April and all. We get that. Also this is a rain or shine event.

Sponsored by Epic Sports you can find all the rules here.
