Holidays have gotten pretty simple for me, all the kids are grown and we Yankee swap on Christmas day.  Still I have to go shopping and let's face it this is a great time to get some bargains for yourself too...or is it?

The answer according to savings.com if you have a little information in the bank before you start then Yes Virginia there can be some great savings.

A surprise to me is that Black Friday did not come in first as the best saving day for Holiday shopping. In fact a study by Savings.com says we’ve already missed out on one of our chances to get the best deal on electronics. That was two weeks ago, back on November 2nd. But do not to give up there are still plenty of other great days to get the best deals:
--November 24th, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, for toys.
--November 30th, a-k-a “Cyber Monday” for clothing.
--Monday, December 14th for all other typical gift items. That’s when most retailers will host last-ditch sales in the big push right before Christmas.

Now that said, if it is a tradition to head into the fray on Black Friday here are some good rules to know from saving.com.

  1. Set priorities and make a list
  2. Do your research
  3. Look on-line first
  4. Go in ahead and get down the floor plan of the stores you want to shop
  5. Read up on the stores match policy in case you see it cheaper elsewhere or fact the fact.
