The tributes continue to flow in as acts find different ways to pay homage to the late Tom Petty. Alongside tributes from Foo Fighters, Cage the Elephant and Starcrawler this weekend at Cal Jam ’17, the Austin City Limits festival also had several nods to Petty as well, with Red Hot Chili Peppers taking the lead.

During their performance, the band dedicated “What Is Soul?” to Petty, with Anthony Kiedis stating, “Tom Petty, if you’re looking down, this one’s for you brother … you did not die in vain.” But their salute to Petty didn’t end there, as guitarist Josh Klinghoffer took the stage solo at one point during the set to play a somber version of Petty’s “Face in the Crowd,” as seen in the fan-shot video above and the tweet below.

Klinghoffer has stepped up for the Chili Peppers in these somber moments, also performing a moving tribute performance of “Seasons” earlier this year after the death of Chris Cornell.

In addition to the Chili Peppers tribute, the Austin City Limits organizers had something special in store to salute Petty as well, as the song “Free Fallin'” began to play throughout the venue while a trio of skydivers jumped through the air sending sparks through the sky while one of the divers trailed a giant Texas flag.

Petty passed away on Oct. 2 at the age of 66.
