The surprising collaboration between Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers scheduled for the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2 just got a lot more intriguing.

Speaking to reporters following the Guitar Center Drum-Off finals on Jan. 18, Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith revealed that the band wasn't focusing on Mars' material or their own for the show -- instead, they've been working up a live version of Led Zeppelin's 'Dazed and Confused.'

The Super Bowl show comes at a busy time for Smith, who's back to juggling his Chili Peppers responsibilities with his tenure in the hard-rock supergroup Chickenfoot, which also features guitarist Joe Satriani, singer Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony. Satriani recently revealed plans for a follow-up to 2011's 'Chickenfoot III,' saying he was "keeping Christmas and the first couple of months of [2014] open for recording" with the band.
