The city of Bangor is working to fix the waterfront before Friday's show.

If you've been down to the latest shows at the Waterfront Pavilion you may have noticed that it was smelling pretty bad. The would be from the over saturated loam and sod that was laid down at the start of the concert series.

The city is ripping up the old sod, loam and dirt and trucking it away. The city plans to add extra drainage before laying down another layer of sod and loam. However, with the Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley and Kix Brooks show days away the city is trying to get as much done as possible. If drainage can't be completed in time for the show, the crews will lay down a temporary surface.

The city is footing the bill for the construction through the use of the 'turf management fund.' 25 cents from each ticket purchased goes to fund projects like this. $1 from each ticket also goes to the city as rent.

June was the rainiest June in Maine's recorded weather history.
