I love when a community rallies around its soldiers. And the community of Prescott, Connecticut went all out for Steve Barrett! Get your tissues ready to watch this veteran get surprised with a beautiful new race car!

When Steve was deployed, he had to set aside his biggest project; rebuilding the stock car he'd raced for years but wrecked last year. When he returned to the states, he was invited to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the Waterford Speedbowl. While he was honored by the request, he didn't think anything of it.

What he didn't know is that while he was deployed at Bagram Air Force Base, his friends and family had formed "Racers for a Soldier," raising money and forming teams to rebuild a chassis from scratch, with a donated rebuilding of his old 350 cubic inch V-8, new roll cage and paint.

Barrett loves racing so much that he bought a remote control car while overseas. He said he was "Awestruck" with the new car and wasted no time in putting on a fire suit and taking it for a drive! Welcome home, Steve!
