The annual 8k road race to benefit the Pat Tillman Foundation happened this past weekend in San Jose, California, and there was one especially touching scene!

Joe Bell, a 95 year old World War Two veteran dressed in his full military uniform sat on the sidewalk waiting for the runners to pass.  When they arrived he then stood up with everyone else and began to applaud.

What Mr. Bell didn't expect was some of the runners to veer off their route to thank him for his service to our country.

Pat Tillman was an NFL football player who also served in Afghanistan where he was killed in action in 2002.  The Pat Tillman Foundation offers veterans education opportunities.

The video was shot for the San Jose Mercury News.
