Although I am sure you know it is not wise to leave your keys in your car and or the doors unlocked on any day of the week in most cities. However it is interesting to know that apparently even the hearts of car thieves are warmed on Christmas. Christmas Day is the day with the fewest stolen vehicles last year, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Topping the list was New Year’s Day, cause nothing says a fresh start like driving around in a stolen car, it is second only to thefts on Halloween, no surprise there.

Here is the complete list:

  • New Year's Day
  • Halloween
  • Memorial Day
  • Labor Day
  • President’s Day
  • Christmas Eve
  • Valentine’s Day
  • Independence Day
  • New Year's Eve
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day
