Tonight is a big night for the Salvation Army of Bangor and the people of the area that the organization helps out.  The Army's Annual Auction will take place tonight at Jeff's Catering in Brewer, it begins at 6pm.

The monies raised tonight will go into the Army's Fuel Fund, which will provide assistance to area families this winter!

"This is an enjoyable night out for those who want to support their community while also having the opportunity to bid on some truly unique items", said Captain Tim Clark, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army of Bangor.  "With underemployment and layoffs, many families struggle to put food on the table, and are overwhelmed by escalating heating bills.  They turn to us to fill the gap, and we want to have the resources to be able to serve them".

This year's auction will include some different elements from year's past, a sit down meal, entertainment, a silent auction and then the live auction.

Some of the auction items this year are, a vacation rental in Surry, scenic airplane rides, an IPad, a Red Sox autographed baseball, a puck autographed by the Boston  Bruins, electronics, restaurant gift cards and photography sessions.

Tickets for tonight's event are $16 and can be reserved by calling 941-2990, or there may be some available at the door.
