Think that the fall foliage looks good from down here?  Well, you ought to see it from way up there!

The Bangor Water District will host another tour of the Thomas Hill Standpipe this Wednesday, October 10th, between 3 and 6 p.m.  It's free.

You may want to bring a camera, because the view is great, especially this time of year!

The Standpipe, built in 1857, holds 1,500,000 gallons of water from Floods Pond in Otis, the City's water supply.

Never been?  Find the Thomas Hill Standpipe on Thomas Hill Road, of course.  Take Highland Avenue to get there.  You'll have to climb the 100 steps of the historic enclosed stairwell, so prepare for that.  Kid under 12 have to be with an adult.

Too lazy to leave the recliner and just want to stare at your phone?  Check out the live webcam from the top of the Standpipe.
