Drivers may want to avoid a portion of Broadway in Bangor as sewer pipe replacement will reduce the street to one lane.

WABI-TV reports work will start Tuesday on the portion of Broadway between Somerset Street and Cumberland Street. Crews will be digging a new sewer line, which will force the reduction of traffic to one lane, at times. City crews have been working to replace sewer lines around the city that are, sometimes, more than 100 years old.

City officials advise motorists to navigate around that portion of Broadway until the project is complete, to cut down on traffic volume, and avoid delays.
