The Penobscot County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help with the theft of telephone cables this week. Someone cut down telephone line cables in Greenbush, causing damage and disruption of service.

It was in the early morning hours of January 21st when someone stole telephone line cables belonging to Fairpoint Communications in the town of Greenbush, in the area between Greenfield Road in Milford and Lower River road in Greenbush. The Sheriff’s office said in a press release that the cables were cut down, which caused thousands of dollars in damage and caused service disruption to several customers.

They’re asking for the public’s help, if anyone saw a suspicious vehicle or persons in the area of Greenfield Road to Lower River Road between 11:30pm on the 20th and 4am on the 21st. Anyone who believes they have information should contact the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office at (207) 947-4585 and ask for either Detective William Flagg or Sergeant Roy Peary.
