Smart & Energetic Gus Is The SPCA of Hancock County Pet Of The Week

Gus is a medium-sized shepherd mix who is looking for a home to call his own. He's about 1 year old, and as is typical for shepherd type dogs, he’s a sensitive guy with plenty of energy!
He’s a smart dog who knows several tricks, and we’re sure he can learn more!
His activity level and sensitive nature mean that he’s not the right fit for every family. It takes him several meetings to become used to new people, and children are too much for him. However, if you win his heart, this handsome, clever boy will love you forever and ever.
Gus is looking for a special home where his needs are understood and respected. He may be able to live with a canine sibling (depending on how a meet-and-greet goes). We are not sure how he would do with cats.

The SPCA of Hancock County is a no-kill facility, and currently has many cats and dogs available for adoption. It’s located at 141 Bar Harbor Road in Trenton. It’s open , Thursdays through Sundays between 11 AM – 5 PM.
