Find your furry friend this Saturday! The SPCA of Hancock County and Stanley Subaru are hosting a “Share the Love” Adoption Event and Open House this Saturday, December 12th!

The event, which is funded by a grant from the ASCPA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and Subaru of America, Inc., will be held from 11 to 3 p.m. at the local SPCA shelter at 141 Bar Harbor Road in Trenton.

Adoption fees for all dogs and cats will be greatly reduced during the event, which will also include free refreshments, face painting, pet photographs with Santa, micro-chipping and a raffle, where you could win $250 worth of heating oil and gift cards from various local stores!

All proceeds will support the SPCA. Tickets will be sold at the event and can also be purchased in advance at the shelter or First Express in Bar Harbor.

“This will be a fun event for people to tour our shelter. It will also help us find forever homes for many of our wonderful dogs and cats,” said SPCA Board President Jamie O’Keefe. “Stanley Subaru has always been a huge supporter of our shelter. So many animal lovers own a Subaru and we are so pleased to partner with Subaru and the ASPCA. We are also very honored to be the recipient of the ASCPA grant that made this event possible.”

The event is free but the SPCA is asking attendees to bring essential shelter supplies, such as dog and cat food, paper towels and bleach to “Stuff the Subaru,” on of a few that will be on display.

A reduced cost rabies clinic will happen between noon and 1PM.

For every Subaru purchased or leased during “Share the Love,” Subaru donates $250 to the purchaser/lessees choice of charities – one of which is the SPCA of Hancock County!
