Blame it on a fat furry little rodent.

This morning around 9, a squirrel made its way within an Emera Maine substation and knocked out power to over 1300 customers in the Bangor area.

Emera Maine reported outages in the area of most of the "Tree streets" along with Hogan Road and Stillwater Avenue.  Several streetlights in the area were also down.

Company electricians attacked the problem and are now restoring power.

Emera Maine customers may contact the company’s  Customer Contact Center at 207-973-2000, or 1-855-363-7211.  You can monitor current outages at their website.
