Steve Harvey is apologizing today after crowning the wrong Miss Universe contestant last night. He realized his mistake, but not until after the first runner-up had walked the runway in a crown that actually belonged to someone else.

For others, like myself, who work in media, it was like a horrible accident that you just can't look away from. You feel Harvey's pain as he admits his mistake, and his humiliation as he quickly walks off stage, after correcting the error. I'm sure today's headlines were already running through his head. But, even more, I'm sure he felt horrible for the emotional roller coaster his actions forced on two women who were center stage.

The 'crowning moment' starts about 3:00 into the video. It was a sad and unfortunate thing, but that's what happens when you air a live television show. There are no 'do-overs!' Harvey has since claimed that, while his winner envelope was correct, the teleprompter had the winner and runner-up names reversed.

Congratulations to both Miss Columbia, Ariadna Gutierrez, and Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach! And to Steve Harvey, you might want to cancel any travel plans you had to Columbia in the near future!
