Sugarloaf tweeted some exciting news for those who shred the slopes.

In March the King Pine ski lift experienced a ‘rollback.’ The lift slid backwards about 200 feet, injuring seven and stranding more than 200 in midair. It was discovered that a gear box failure was the cause of the accident.

$800,000 later Sugarloaf has a new chairlift. Crews are working to install a new motor housing that arrived over the weekend. The lift has a redesigned gear box equipped with the latest anti-rollback technology.

Everything except the lift's towers and chairs will be replaced.
