Summer Food Programs For Kids in Bangor – Brewer
I was talking with my walking partner this morning about school coming to an end and she was mentioning how good it would be to get the word out about the local summer feeding programs for school kids. For many children in low income families that lunches they receive at school may be their only meal for the day. Now that school is drawing to a close what happens? Great news for these families is that Good Shepard Food Banks has a summer feeding program in our area to care for these children. I have known this food bank for awhile now as they also do a food pantry on Saturdays at The Rock Church where I attend.
Through partnerships with the Bangor Housing Authority, Bangor Public Library, Bangor YMCA, and the Brewer Housing Authority, meals will be offered at the Bangor Community Center in Capehart, the Griffin Park playground, the Bangor Pubic Library, the Bangor YMCA, and Rinfret Drive in Brewer.
