The Rolling Stones have added one more date to their '50 & Counting' North American tour, which will run through May and June. The legendary rockers have announced a concert - which they are billing as the final date on the tour - at the Verzion Center in Washington, D.C. on Monday, June 24.
Former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman seems peeved that his time on stage with his former bandmates last fall was capped to five minutes. He played two songs at both London gigs and was then asked to tour America with the band. "I said for two songs? No thank you."
On April 8, 1998, Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood was rescued by paparazzi from a yacht fire. Tom Petty once sang, "The waiting is the hardest part." Presumably, Petty was referring to nearly a year's worth of teasing by the Rolling Stones on whether or not they would launch another full-scale tour. However, it would appear that we will only have to wait a few more days to learn all the information.
The Rolling Stones took a "less is more" approach to celebrating their 50th anniversary, with two new songs and a handful of live shows -- and it looks like they'll be keeping a relatively low profile in 2013, too.
