The Galaxi roller coaster at the Palace Playground at Old Orchard Beach gave it's last ride yesterday.  Next year,  something bigger and better will take it's place!

For twenty years now The Galaxi has thrilled those young and old alike just steps away from the sand at Maine's most popular beach.   It will be replaced by The Sea Viper, a roller coaster twice as high and a third longer.  The Sea Viper will seat 24 thrill goers per ride, as compared to just 8 now.  It will be part of a $4 million Palace Playground expansion!

Park owner Joel Golder told WCSH TV in Portland recently, "It hasn't been seen in North America.  It's a brand new ride, brand new design."

The video below was recorded on the Sea Viper located at Sea World Australia, which may or may not be comparable to what will be constructed at Old Orchard Beach.
