The Truth About Ice Cream And Summertime

I scream, you scream and apparently Mom screams because 40 percent of us are eating straight from the carton. It's true, in fact a new survey found 95% of people eat ice cream all year long, not just when it’s hot outside. Here are a few more results from the survey:

• 46% of people eat ice cream at least two or three times a week during the summer and 11% eat it daily
• The most popular flavors are peanut butter cup, cookie dough, and strawberry
• The most popular toppings are chocolate syrup and whipped cream
• 40% of people have no problem eating ice cream straight out of the carton

Add to that:

Twitter research between March 1 and May 18 of this year, mapped out all fifty states and which ice cream flavors each state tweets about the most. Overall, more than 30 million tweets about ice cream were sent out during that time frame.

So which ice cream flavor did Mainers tweet about most often? Mint Chocolate Chip! I never would have guessed that! Maine along with Delaware and New Jersey chose mint chocolate chip.

Coffee was the favorite flavor of 17 states, followed by cookie dough with 15 states, brownie had 10 states and strawberry was the favorite in four states.

As for me it's Coffee all the way unless there is Gifford's Moose Tracks on the menu and then ..well I can't have both, or could I?
