The Unofficial State Sound Is…

You voted and gave us some great suggestions for Maine's 'State Sound' and the winner is...

Loons! The song they sing is peaceful in the morning dawn and spooky in the dead of night, but it perfectly sums up Maine. Although this sound is not unique to Maine, it is one that is not widely known as demonstrated in the recent 'Finding Bigfoot' episode when the cast visits Maine. I had quite a chuckle as they identified what any Mainer would know as a loon call as a Sasquatch sound instead!
