Three Injured in Sedgwick Crash; Police Cite Alcohol As Factor

Three people were injured in an early morning crash in Sedgwick Sunday, and police are reporting that alcohol was a contributing factor.

The people in the vehicle were Olivia Perkins, 21, from Penobscot who was the operator and registered owner of the vehicle; passengers were Torey Slaven, 22, from Surry and Philip Graceffa, 30, from Brooksville.

The vehicle, a white 1998 Jeep Wrangler was traveling from Route 15 to Route 176 when the Perkins lost control of the vehicle just before 1 a.m., according to a news release. The vehicle left the road traveling off the right shoulder, struck a flatbed trailer that was parked in a driveway, and then vaulted into a tree.

Slaven and Graceffa were ejected from the vehicle, according to police.

Perkins was trapped in the driver’s seat and had to be extricated.

One person was taken by Lifeflight from the scene and transported Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The second person was transported to Blue Hill Hospital by ambulance and then taken by Lifeflight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The third person was transported to Blue Hill Hospital by ambulance.
